Fifteen year old Lachie Thomas, had an incredible weekend at the Life Saving Victoria (LSV) State Championships in Warrnambool on the 8-9 March 2025.
Competing for Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club across several events, Lachie showcased his ability to transfer his track running skills onto the sand, with multiple podium finishes, including several gold medals.

- 1st – Youth Men's 2 x 1km Relay
- 1st – Youth Men's Beach Relay
- 2nd – Youth Mixed Beach Relay
- 4th – U15 Flags
- 4th – Youth Men's Belt & Reel
Lachlan’s impressive results at the LSV State Championships add to a list of personal bests and great performances run on the track this season. His ability to transfer his track running into strong performances on the sand speaks to his adaptability and well-rounded athleticism.
With 4 gold medals, a silver, and several top-four finishes, Lachie has proven himself to be a very talent young athlete. His success is just the beginning, and he’s poised to continue excelling on the track.
Lachie is now focused on preparing for the Australian Athletics Championships in Perth this April where he will compete in the U16 400m and 800m events.
